Andaz Macau to open in 2021 alongside Galaxy Macau’s convention center

Andaz Macau, described by the company as “a vibrant luxury lifestyle hotel rooted in local art and culture”, will be adding over 700 rooms and suites to the Galaxy Macau integrated resort when it opens in 2021. It will be opening alongside the Galaxy International Convention Center (GICC) and 16,000 seat Galaxy Arena in the integrated resort’s push towards becoming a major player in Asia’s growing MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) industry.

With 23 locations worldwide, this will be Hyatt’s first foray into Macau with the Andaz brand. It is also the first time the Andaz brand has appeared in an integrated resort. The hotel will be targeted towards MICE travelers with conveniences such as a dedicated check-in lounge for large MICE groups.

Galaxy feels the brand is well positioned to attract today’s luxury traveler because they are “increasingly seeking out unique experiences and the opportunity to become truly immersed in a destination’s culture,” according to Mr. Francis Lui, Vice Chairman of GEG. “With Andaz Macau, we will work closely with Hyatt to create experiences that truly showcase what is special about this destination, while further contributing to the strength of Macau’s tourism and MICE industries.”

Andaz strengthens Galaxy’s position as the largest collections of luxury hotels in Macau, joining The Ritz-Carlton Macau, Banyan Tree Macau, JW Marriott Hotel Macau, Hotel Okura Macau, Galaxy Hotel, and Broadway Hotel.

Mr. David Udell, Group President of Hyatt Hotels Asia Pacific stated that “We are honored to launch the Andaz brand in Macau in our first collaboration with GEG as part of the group’s ever-expanding integrated resorts precinct in the city. Global in scale while local in perspective, the Andaz brand is on track to double its footprint in Asia Pacific by end of 2020.
