Saipan: $456k seized from Imperial Pacific consultant

The Internal Revenue Service issued a notice it has seized $456k from Alfred Yue, a consultant for Imperial Pacific, a Chinese investment holding company developing a casino on the United States overseas territory of Saipan.

The notice was issued January 4, but was only brought to light Tuesday by the Marianas Variety.

The money forfeited to the IRS came from two different Bank of Saipan accounts and one Bank of Guam account.

The IRS did not indicate why the funds were seized but is likely related to a search and seizure operated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in November of last year. Among other places related to the development of the Imperial Pacific casino, the FBI raided the office of Alfred Yue of Marianas Consultancy Services LLC. An itemized listing of seized items obtained by the Saipan Tribune included a document titled “Alfred Yue payment document.”
